Baby Keem Teases New Album, "child with wolves"
The 23-year-old rapper has begun the rollout for his sophomore album.
Rapper and producer Baby Keem has wasted no time in 2024, teasing that his new album, child with wolves, is on the horizon through a series of Instagram stories.
Baby Keem broke onto the hip hop scene in a major way with the release of his debut studio album The Melodic Blue in September, 2021. He followed this project up with a deluxe edition in October, 2022, and a complimentary short-film titled “The Melodic Blue: Baby Keem” in December, 2023.
Anticipation for his sophomore studio album has been at an all-time high since the short-film’s release, which marked an assumed end to the Melodic Blue chapter. There has previously been suspicions and hopes for a collaborative album between Baby Keem and cousin Kendrick Lamar, which were heightened with the surprise release of their critically-acclaimed 2023 track "The Hillbillies,” a playful exchange of verses over Jersey-club production and a Bon Iver sample. Odds are, we’ll see another solo Baby Keem album before the self-proclaimed Hillbillies team up for an LP.
Baby Keem ignited excitement by posting a trio of posts featuring uncaptioned imagery. Immediately, fans associated these images with the beginnings of an album rollout. Baby Keem was quick to confirm this, following up with several screenshots of text messages confirming the album title and hinting at a track named “candles.”
As of today, there is no set release date or timeline for child with wolves. But, in connecting the dots, it seems that we will see another Baby Keem album in 2024. For context, the title for The Melodic Blue was announced May 1st, 2021, and the album was released in full four months later.
